Data management plan
PollHab – Pollinators typical of habitats protected under the Habitats Directive

Pollinator and habitat data
PollHab will not generate new empirical data on pollinator or habitat distribution but will use existing public, accessible data or databases generated by previous projects that follow the FAIR data principles (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable) for the collection, storage, evaluation and exploitation of the data that will be used during and after the project.

Expert assessment data
Before initiating the official expert recruitment, we will consider how we will protect data and if needed the anonymity of experts during the process. We will consider the possibility to de-identify the expert judgements and personal information (e.g. using code names for experts or encrypting folders). We will provide a project statement written in plain language listing the key information including that it is voluntary, whether payment will be involved, how much time will be asked, over what period, how the data will be used and stored, how the anonymity of judgements will be protected, who will have access, how they can enquire or complain about the process and that they are free to withdraw at any time.
We will also produce a consent form that provides an opportunity for experts to sign that they acknowledge having read and understood the purpose of the study, and that they are willing to take part.
At the very beginning of the project, we will discuss with the contracting authority whether expert names need to be open. In this case we will seek permission from experts to publish their names and credentials as supporting information.
